Hammond 1583H6B1SBK 1U 6-Outlet Surge Protected Rack PDU

The 1583H6B1SBK is a 1U horizontal rack mount basic PDU from the Hammond 1583 Series, built for 19-inch rack and cabinet installations where power has to be distributed from the rear of the unit. It provides six NEMA 5-15R outlets, all rear-facing, and is rated 15 A at 120/125 VAC, 60 Hz. An illuminated on/off rocker switch and a resettable 15 A, 125 VAC circuit breaker are built into the front panel, along with a green surge indicator light.

Surge protection is integrated: the module delivers 1080 joules of maximum energy absorption, 25,000 A-rated MOVs handling 75,000 A of single-pulse transient current, a Voltage Protection Rating of 500 V in all three modes (L-N, L-G, N-G) and a nominal discharge current of 5 kA. The green light confirms the module is active; at the end of the module's useful life internal protection disconnects it and extinguishes the light while power to the load is maintained, now unprotected. Voltage suppression at the outlet also guards against transients generated by equipment plugged into the strip.

Overall dimensions are 1.72 in (44 mm) high by 19.00 in (483 mm) wide by 2.66 in (68 mm) deep, with front and back panels in black painted steel and a shipping weight of 4.5 lbs (2.04 kg). A heavy-duty 15 ft 14/3 SJT cord with an integral moulded straight-blade NEMA 5-15P plug is included, suited to extreme temperature ranges.
