Hammond 1583H6A1SBK 1U Surge-Protected 6-Outlet Rack PDU, 15A

The 1583H6A1SBK is a 1U horizontal 19" rack mount basic PDU rated 15 A at 120 VAC, built to distribute power from the rear of a rack or cabinet. All six NEMA 5-15R outlets face the rear (0 front, 6 rear), making it a practical choice for IT, AV and OEM installations where patch and power cabling is kept behind the equipment. A lighted on/off rocker switch, a resettable circuit breaker and a surge indicator light are located on the front panel for easy access.

Overall dimensions are 1.72 in (44 mm) high by 19.00 in (483 mm) wide by 2.66 in (68 mm) deep, with the drawing showing 17.500 in between mounting slot centres and an 18.188 in panel feature span. Front and back are black painted steel; the series is finished in RAL9005 black or ASA61 gray powder coat that complies with the Greenguard guidelines for indoor air quality. Shipping weight is 3.8 lbs (1.72 kg).

Power is supplied by an integral 6 ft heavy-duty 14/3 SJT cord with a moulded straight-blade NEMA 5-15P plug, suited to extreme temperature ranges. A 15 Amp, 125 VAC circuit breaker guards against accidental overload.

Surge protection is integrated in this S-suffix model: 1080 J maximum energy, 25000 Amp-rated MOVs for 75,000 Amps of single pulse transient current, a 500 V Voltage Protection Rating in all three modes (L-N, L-G, N-G) and a 5 kA nominal discharge current. The green indicator confirms the surge module is active; at the end of the module's useful life internal protection disconnects it and extinguishes the light while maintaining power to the load, now unprotected.
