Hammond 1583H6A1BKX 1U 6-Outlet 15A Rack PDU, 6 ft Cord

The 1583H6A1BKX is a 1U horizontal 19-inch rack mount basic PDU (outlet strip) rated 15 A at 120/125 VAC, built for IT, AV, broadcast and industrial cabinets where a straightforward single-phase power distribution point is needed. It carries six NEMA 5-15R outlets in total — two front-facing and four rear-facing — so equipment mounted in front of the rails and gear cabled at the back of the rack can both be fed from one strip.

Construction is painted steel, front and back, in a black finish; the 1583 Series is finished in RAL9005 black or ASA61 gray powder coat and complies with the Greenguard guidelines for indoor air quality. A lighted on/off rocker power switch and a resettable circuit breaker are built into the front panel, with the 15 Amp, 125 VAC breaker guarding against accidental overload.

Overall dimensions are 1.72 in high x 19.00 in wide x 2.66 in deep (drawing: 43.64 mm [1.718 in] high, 482.60 mm [19.000 in] wide, 67.58 mm [2.661 in] deep), for 1U of horizontal rack space in a standard 19-inch rack. Shipping weight is 3.5 lbs (1.59 kg).

Power is supplied by an integral 6 ft heavy-duty 14/3 SJT cord rated for extreme temperature ranges, terminated in a moulded NEMA 5-15P straight-blade plug. The 1583H6A1BKX has no surge module, shielded cord, ammeter or rotated outlets — other part numbers in the 1583 Series cover those options.
