Hammond 1557FABK 160mm Square, 70mm Tall Black ABS Enclosure

The 1557FABK is a black general purpose ABS watertight enclosure measuring 6.3 in x 6.3 in x 2.76 in (160 mm x 160 mm x 70 mm). It is the 70 mm tall ABS model in the 1557 Series 160 mm family, intended for indoor electronics where a sealed, tidy housing is needed without the outdoor ratings of polycarbonate.

ABS versions of the 1557 Series are molded from general purpose material with a UL94-HB flammability rating and are meant for indoor use. They are not UL listed, but have been tested to and meet IP66, carry an IK07 impact rating per IEC 62262:2021 and have a recommended operating temperature of -20°C to +60°C (-4°F to +140°F).

The interior measures 151.02 mm [5.95 in] square with 63.80 mm [2.51 in] of height and takes P.C. boards up to 147.5 mm x 147.5 mm on bosses that accept #6 self-tapping screws. The lid uses two piece tongue and groove construction with a one piece silicone gasket and is held by four stainless steel M4 screws threaded into corrosion resistant inserts, tightened to 71-85 ozf-in (50-60 cN-m).

Supplied with the 1557FABK: lid, 4 cover screws, preformed silicone gasket, 4 rubber feet, 4 wall mount feet and 4 wall mount foot screws. Wall mount feet are installed at 80-90 cN-m (7-8 lbf-in) for ABS. Shipping weight is 0.78 lbs (0.35 kg), packed in shrink wrap.
