The 1557FA2BK is the deeper black polycarbonate model in the 1557 Series 160 mm family, measuring 6.3 in x 6.3 in x 2.76 in (160 mm x 160 mm x 70 mm). The extra height gives 63.80 mm [2.51 in] of inside height, useful when a printed circuit board carries taller components, terminal blocks or connectors. Boards up to 147.5 mm x 147.5 mm fit inside.
Being polycarbonate, the 1557FA2BK is UV stabilized for outdoor use, cUL and UL 508A listed under file E65324 and impact rated IK08 per IEC 62262:2021. The part page lists IP68, NEMA 4, 4X, 6, 6P, 12 & 13 and a UL94 V-0 flame rating; the recommended operating temperature for polycarbonate versions is -40°C to +110°C (-40°F to +230°F).
The lid seals with two piece tongue and groove construction and a preformed one piece silicone gasket, and is held by four stainless steel M4-0.7 x 20 mm screws in corrosion resistant inserts (recommended torque 71-85 ozf-in, 50-60 cN-m). Inside length and width are 151.02 mm [5.95 in].
Included with the enclosure are the lid, 4 cover screws, silicone gasket, 4 rubber feet, 4 wall mount feet and 4 wall mount foot screws. Choose tabletop use, flush wall mounting through the keyhole-style feet or the heavy duty flange layout; pole mounting uses PMB6687KIT3 or PMB6687KIT4. Replacement gasket is 1557FGASKET and the matching aluminum inner panel is 1557FPL. Shipping weight is 0.87 lbs (0.39 kg).
