Hammond 1557DA2BK 120mm Square, 70mm Black Polycarbonate Enclosure

The 1557DA2BK is the deeper 120 mm square enclosure in the 1557 Series, molded in black UL listed polycarbonate and measuring 4.72 in x 4.72 in x 2.76 in (120 mm x 120 mm x 70 mm). With 63.80 mm [2.51 in] of inside height it gives room for taller components above a circuit board in outdoor and harsh-environment installations.

Its polycarbonate is UV stabilized for outdoor use and the series lists independent testing to IP66, IP67 and IP68 plus NEMA Type 4, 4X, 6, 6P, 12 and 13. It is cUL and UL 508A listed under file E65324 and carries an IK08 impact rating per IEC 62262:2021. Flame rating is listed as UL94 V-0 on the part page; the drawing states UL94-5VA at 3 mm. Recommended operating temperature is -40°C to +110°C (-40°F to +230°F).

Inside length and width are each 111.02 mm [4.37 in], and a PC board up to 108.5 mm x 108.5 mm mounts on bosses that accept #6 self-tapping screws. The lid closes with two piece tongue and groove construction, a one piece UL listed silicone gasket and four M4 stainless steel screws into corrosion resistant bushings; recommended cover screw torque is 71-85 ozf-in (50-60 cN-m).

The 1557DA2BK comes with four rubber feet, four wall mount feet and four wall mount foot screws for desktop, flush wall or heavy duty wall flange use (feet torque 100 - 110 cN-m, 8.8 - 9.7 lbf-in). Pole mount kits PMB5057KIT3 and PMB5057KIT4 cover poles up to 7 in and 15 in. Shipping weight is 0.62 lbs (0.28 kg).
