Hammond 1557BAGY 80mm Square, 60mm Tall Gray ABS Watertight Enclosure

The 1557BAGY is the taller of the two 80 mm square profiles in the 1557 Series: a light gray (RAL7035) general purpose ABS enclosure measuring 3.15 in x 3.15 in x 2.36 in (80 mm x 80 mm x 60 mm). It suits OEM engineers and integrators housing a small printed circuit board, sensor interface or control module indoors where a little extra depth is needed.

The gasketed lid uses two piece tongue and groove construction with a one piece, preformed, high temperature UL listed silicone gasket to keep out oil, dust and water, and the ABS version has been tested to and meets IP66. The lid is held by four included M4 stainless steel machine screws that thread into corrosion resistant bushings, so it can be opened and closed repeatedly; the recommended cover screw torque is 71-85 ozf-in (50-60 cN-m).

Inside, the drawing gives 71.30 mm [2.81 in] length, 71.02 mm [2.80 in] width and 53.80 mm [2.12 in] height, with a maximum PC board of 70.64 mm x 70.64 mm. PCB bosses accept #6 self-tapping screws.

Each 1557BAGY ships with the box, lid, four cover screws, the gasket, four rubber feet, two wall mount feet and two wall mount foot screws, so it can sit on a desk or mount flush to a wall (feet as keyhole slots) or on a heavy duty wall flange (feet outward). ABS material is rated UL94 HB, IK07 per IEC 62262:2021, and is intended for indoor use from -20°C to +60°C (-4°F to +140°F). It is not UL listed. Shipping weight is 0.3 lbs (0.14 kg).
