Hammond 1557BABK 80x80x60mm Black Abs IP66 Watertight Enclosure

The 1557BABK is a black general purpose ABS version of the 80 x 80 x 60 mm 1557 water-tight enclosure. It suits indoor projects where a sealed, gasketed housing is wanted for a small printed circuit board or electronics module but a UL listed polycarbonate box is not required.

It measures 3.15 x 3.15 x 2.36 in (80 x 80 x 60 mm) outside. The drawing shows inside dimensions of 71.30 mm [2.81 in] long, 71.02 mm [2.80 in] wide and 53.80 mm [2.12 in] high, and the maximum P.C. board size is 70.64 x 70.64 mm. Boards attach with #6 self-tapping screws, and the 1557BPL aluminum inner panel is available.

ABS versions of the 1557 series are molded from general purpose material rated UL94-HB and are for indoor use. They are not UL listed but have been tested to and meet IP66, and carry an IK07 impact rating per IEC 62262:2021, with a recommended operating temperature of -20°C to +60°C (-4°F to +140°F). The lid is gasketed with a one piece high temperature UL listed silicone gasket in a two piece tongue and groove joint and closes with M4 stainless steel machine screws in corrosion resistant inserts.

The 1557BABK ships with box, lid, 4 cover screws, preformed silicone gasket, 4 rubber feet, 2 wall mount feet and 2 wall mount foot screws. Install the feet at 80-90 cN-m (7-8 lbf-in) for ABS, then use it as a heavy duty flange wall mount or flush keyhole mount, or on a tabletop. Replacement ABS foot kit: 1557FOOTBK-24.
