The 1557BA2GY is a RAL7035 light gray polycarbonate enclosure in the 80 x 80 x 60 mm 1557BA size. It is intended for panel builders, electricians and OEM engineers housing small circuit boards and electronics in wet, dusty or outdoor installations that call for a UL listed, water-tight box.
The enclosure is 3.15 in (80 mm) long and wide with a 2.36 in (60 mm) total height. Per the drawing, the inside measures 71.30 mm [2.81 in] by 71.02 mm [2.80 in] with 53.80 mm [2.12 in] of height. Maximum P.C. board size is 70.64 x 70.64 mm; boards fasten to bosses with #6 self-tapping screws, and the 1557BPL aluminum inner panel is available.
Sealing comes from a gasketed two piece tongue and groove lid using a one piece, high temperature UL listed silicone gasket, closed with M4 stainless steel machine screws in corrosion resistant inserts for repeated assembly and disassembly. Ratings are IP68 and NEMA 4, 4X, 6, 6P, 12 and 13, with cUL and UL 508A listing under file E65324. Polycarbonate versions are UV stabilized for outdoor use, carry IK08 impact resistance per IEC 62262:2021, and are recommended for -40°C to +110°C.
Included with the 1557BA2GY: box, lid, 4 cover screws, preformed silicone gasket, 4 rubber feet, 2 wall mount feet and 2 wall mount foot screws. The feet install at 100-110 cN-m (8.8-9.7 lbf-in) for polycarbonate and support heavy duty flange or flush keyhole wall mounting.
