The 1557B2BK is a compact black polycarbonate enclosure from the 1557 water-tight series, sized 80 x 80 x 45 mm. It is built for engineers and integrators mounting small printed circuit boards, sensors and electronics in wet, dusty or outdoor locations where a sealed, listed housing is required.
External dimensions are 3.15 x 3.15 x 1.77 in (80 x 80 x 45 mm). The drawing shows inside dimensions of 71.30 mm [2.81 in] long, 71.02 mm [2.80 in] wide and 38.80 mm [1.53 in] high, and the maximum P.C. board size is 70.64 x 70.64 mm. Board bosses accept #6 self-tapping screws, and the 1557BPL aluminum inner panel is an available accessory.
The gasketed lid uses two piece tongue and groove construction with a one piece, high temperature UL listed silicone gasket, and closes with M4 stainless steel machine screws threaded into corrosion resistant inserts for repeated opening. The part carries IP68 and NEMA 4, 4X, 6, 6P, 12 and 13 ratings, is cUL and UL 508A listed under file E65324, and is UV stabilized for outdoor use. Polycarbonate versions carry an IK08 impact rating per IEC 62262:2021 and a recommended operating range of -40°C to +110°C (-40°F to +230°F); the part page lists a UL94 V-0 flame rating.
Each 1557B2BK includes the box, lid, 4 cover screws, preformed silicone gasket, 4 rubber feet, 2 wall mount feet and 2 wall mount foot screws, so it can be used on a tabletop, as a heavy duty flange wall mount or as a flush keyhole wall mount. Pole mount kits PMB5057WKIT1 (7" max) and PMB5057WKIT2 (15" max) are listed for the 1557B profile.
