The 1556BABK is a compact black enclosure from the 1556 Modern General Purpose series, sized 3.15 in x 3.15 in x 2.36 in (80 mm x 80 mm x 60 mm). It is designed for printed circuit boards, IoT equipment and other small electronics, and suits designers who want a clean, rounded housing that can sit on a desk or mount to a wall.
It is molded from flame retardant ABS (FRABS) rated UL94 V-0, with a light satin texture, rounded corners and face. Lap joint construction protects against dust and splashing water, and the enclosure is designed to meet IP54. It is intended for indoor use only.
Inside dimensions from the drawing are 74.40 mm [2.93 in] long, 74.18 mm [2.92 in] wide and 55.00 mm [2.17 in] high, accepting PC boards up to 71 mm x 71 mm. Multiple mounting locations in the lid and base take #6 self-tapping screws, or the 1556BPL aluminum inner panel can be added (sold separately).
The purchased assembly includes the box, lid, four #6 x 1/2" high strength self-tapping Plastite cover screws and four rubber feet for tabletop use. For heavy duty flange or flush keyhole wall mounting, add the 1556FOOTBK-4 black wall mount foot kit; pole mounting uses PMB5057WKIT1 (7" max.) or PMB5057WKIT2 (15" max.). Recommended cover screw torque is 71-85 ozf-in (50-60 cN-m).
