Hammond 1555XGY 300 x 200 x 90 mm ABS Watertight Styled-Lid Enclosure

The 1555XGY is a light gray (RAL 7035) general purpose ABS enclosure from the 1555 styled-lid series, measuring 300 x 200 x 90 mm (11.81 x 7.87 x 3.54 in). It is built for OEM engineers, panel builders and integrators who need an indoor housing for printed circuit boards or DIN rail mounted components, with a smooth recessed lid surface ready for a membrane keypad or label.

The lid seals through a two piece tongue and groove joint and a one piece, high temperature UL listed silicone gasket, which ships loose inside the box rather than pre-installed. Six included M4 stainless steel machine screws thread into corrosion resistant inserts; the screws are self captivating, and the lid holes are threaded on first installation. The drawing recommends a cover screw torque of 8-9 lbf-in (90-100 cN-m).

Inside, the drawing shows 289.09 x 189.31 mm of floor area with 79.32 mm of inside height, and the part data lists a maximum P.C. board size of 185 x 285 mm. Mounting options include molded DIN rail tabs, four M3 brass inserts, ten bosses that accept #8 self-tapping screws, lid standoffs for #6 self tapping screws and vertical card guides for 1.5 mm boards. The optional 1554XPL galvanized steel inner panel fits in the box or lid.

As an ABS version, the 1555XGY carries a UL94 HB flame rating, has been tested to meet IP66, has an IK07 impact rating per IEC 62262:2021 and is recommended for -20°C to +60°C in indoor use. It is not UL listed; choose the polycarbonate 1555X2GY where a UL listing or outdoor use is required. Wall-mounting holes sit outside the gasket channel and also accept the 1554FT-XY foot kit. It is RoHS and REACH compliant and ships shrink wrapped at 2.05 lbs (0.93 kg).
