Hammond 1555VA2GY 240x160x90mm Six-Screw Polycarbonate Enclosure

The 1555VA2GY is a 240 x 160 x 90 mm (9.45 x 6.30 x 3.54 in) polycarbonate enclosure in light gray RAL 7035 that closes with six lid screws rather than four. It is aimed at integrators and OEMs building larger outdoor control, communications or instrumentation assemblies that need a listed, sealed housing.

The UV stabilized polycarbonate is cUL and UL 508A listed under file E65324 and is listed at IP68 with NEMA ratings 4, 4X, 6, 6P, 12 and 13. It carries a UL94 5VA flame rating, an IK08 impact rating per IEC 62262:2021, and a recommended operating range of -40°C to +110°C (-40°F to +230°F); the manufacturer recommends customers test suitability for their specific application.

The drawing gives inside dimensions of 231.29 x 147.29 mm with 80.80 mm of height, and the maximum board size is 145.5 x 226.82 mm. M3 brass inserts and #6 self tapping screw standoffs carry boards or the separately sold 1554VAPL steel inner panel, which fits in the box or lid, while molded DIN rail tabs and 1.5 mm vertical card guides add flexibility.

The six included M4 stainless steel screws are self captivating, thread into corrosion resistant inserts, and should be torqued to 85-92 ozf-in (60-65 cN-m) per the drawing; replacements are M4-0.7 x 25 mm (SC583-50). The tongue and groove lid seals on a replaceable 1554VAGASKET silicone gasket, supplied loose. Four 4.50 mm wall-mounting holes outside the gasket channel also accept the 1554FT foot kit.
