Hammond 1555V2GY 240x160x91mm Polycarbonate Type 4X Enclosure

The 1555V2GY is a 240 x 160 x 91 mm (9.45 x 6.30 x 3.58 in) polycarbonate enclosure in light gray RAL 7035, one of the larger four-screw sizes in the 1555 Series. Its footprint gives room for a larger circuit board or a longer DIN rail assembly in outdoor controls and instrumentation.

Polycarbonate versions are UV stabilized for outdoor use and are cUL and UL 508A listed under file E65324. Note the type rating for this part: the series specification sheet states that 1555V2GY is Type 4, 4X only, and the drawing is marked Type 4, 4X. The part page lists IP66 and NEMA ratings 1, 4, 4X, 12 and 13. The material is rated UL94 5VA, the impact rating is IK08 per IEC 62262:2021, and the recommended operating range is -40°C to +110°C (-40°F to +230°F).

The drawing gives inside dimensions of 232.26 x 148.26 mm and 81.50 mm of height, with a maximum board size of 146.74 x 231.47 mm. Integral M3 brass inserts, standoffs for #6 self tapping screws, molded DIN rail tabs and 1.5 mm vertical card guides support internal layouts; the 1554VPL steel inner panel is sold separately.

Four included self captivating M4 stainless steel screws close the tongue and groove lid on a replaceable silicone gasket, supplied loose, with 43-57 ozf-in (30-40 cN-m) recommended torque. Replacement cover screws are M4-0.7 x 25 mm (SC583-50). Four 4.57 mm wall-mounting holes outside the gasket channel also accept the 1554FT foot kit.
