Hammond 1555SGY 160x160x91mm Deep ABS Watertight Enclosure

The 1555SGY gives the 160 x 160 mm footprint its maximum depth in general purpose ABS: 91 mm (3.58 in) of total height, light gray RAL 7035. It is meant for indoor projects where taller components, terminal blocks or a DIN rail assembly need a sealed, cost-conscious housing.

This ABS version is rated UL94 HB and is not UL listed, but has been tested to and meets IP66. It carries an IK07 impact rating per IEC 62262:2021 and a recommended operating temperature of -20°C to +60°C (-4°F to +140°F). The two-piece tongue and groove lid seals on a replaceable one-piece silicone gasket supplied loose inside, and four included M4 stainless steel screws, self captivating and threaded into corrosion resistant inserts, hold it closed. The drawing recommends 43-57 ozf-in (30-40 cN-m) of screw torque.

Inside dimensions on the drawing are 152.13 x 148.13 mm with 81.50 mm of height. Boards up to 147.4 x 150.95 mm mount on M3 brass inserts or on #6 self tapping screw standoffs, the separately sold 1554RPL steel inner panel fits in the box or the lid, and DIN rail tabs plus 1.5 mm vertical card guides are molded in.

Wall-mounting holes are located outside the gasket channel and also accept the 1554FT foot kit. For outdoor installations or where a UL 508A listing is required, the polycarbonate 1555S2GY is the same size.
