Hammond 1554VGY 240x160x90mm Gray Abs IP66 Watertight Enclosure

The 1554VGY is a mid-height, general purpose ABS enclosure in light gray (RAL 7035) with a gray ABS lid, for indoor installations. Designers, electricians and OEM builders use it to house PC boards and DIN rail components behind a gasketed screw cover.

Size data varies by source: the short description calls it 240 x 160 x 90 mm, the part page gives a nominal 239 x 160 x 89 mm (9.4 x 6.3 x 3.5 in), the ordering table lists 9.45 x 6.30 x 3.58 in (240 x 160 x 91 mm), and the drawing shows an overall height of 90.50 mm [3.56 in]. Inside, the drawing gives 232.26 x 148.26 x 83.50 mm. This size accepts PC boards up to 146.74 x 231.47 mm, using molded card guides, M3 brass inserts or #6 self-tapping standoffs, and has molded DIN rail tabs. The matching steel inner panel is 1554VPL.

ABS versions use general purpose material rated UL94-HB. They are not UL listed but are tested to and meet IP66, carry IK07 impact per IEC 62262:2021, and are recommended for -20°C to +60°C (-4°F to +140°F).

Unlike the six-screw VAL and VB sizes, this model closes with four included stainless steel M4 screws, self-captivating in corrosion resistant inserts, torqued to 71-85 ozf-in (50-60 cN-m). The one piece silicone gasket (replacement 1554VGASKET) ships loose inside. Four 4.57 mm wall mounting holes outside the gasket channel also fit the 1554FT foot kit. The 1554VGY ships shrink wrapped at 1.26 lbs (0.57 kg), RoHS and REACH compliant.
