Hammond 1554QGY 140mm Square, 60mm High Gray ABS Watertight Enclosure

The 1554QGY is a general purpose ABS enclosure from the 1554 series measuring 5.51 x 5.51 x 2.36 in (140 x 140 x 60 mm). Molded in light gray RAL 7035 with a matching gray ABS lid, it suits OEM engineers and panel builders who need a compact, watertight housing for printed circuit boards or DIN rail mounted components in indoor installations.

The flat lid seals with a two-piece tongue and groove joint and a one-piece, high temperature UL listed silicone gasket that ships loose inside the box. Four included M4 stainless steel machine screws thread into corrosion resistant bushings, so the lid can be opened and closed repeatedly; the screws are self-captivating once the lid holes have been threaded on first installation. Recommended cover screw torque is 43-57 oz f-in (30-40 cN-m).

Inside, the drawing shows 132.36 x 128.69 mm of usable length and width and 53.70 mm of inside height. Molded DIN rail tabs, threaded M3 brass inserts, standoffs for #6 self-tapping screws and vertical card guides for 1.5 mm boards give several mounting choices, with a PC board up to 127 x 127.5 mm. An optional steel inner panel, 1554QPL, is ordered separately.

The ABS material carries a UL94 HB flammability rating and an IK07 impact rating, has been tested to IP66, and is recommended for -20°C to +60°C. This ABS version is not UL listed. Four 4.30 mm wall-mounting holes sit outside the gasket channel and also accept the 1554FT foot kit. Shipping weight is 0.64 lbs (0.29 kg).
