Hammond 1554JLGY 160x90x45 mm Gray ABS Watertight Enclosure

The 1554JLGY is a low-profile, general purpose ABS watertight enclosure from the 1554 Series, sized at 160 x 90 x 45 mm (6.3 x 3.54 x 1.77 in). It suits OEM engineers and panel builders who need a slim indoor housing for printed circuit boards or DIN rail mounted components.

The box and flat lid are molded in light gray RAL 7035 ABS with a UL94 HB flammability rating. A two piece tongue and groove lid joint, sealed by a one piece high temperature silicone gasket, protects against oil, dust and water; the gasket ships loose inside the enclosure. Four included M4 stainless steel machine screws are self-captivating and thread into corrosion resistant bushings, so the lid can be opened and closed repeatedly. Recommended cover screw torque is 43-57 ozf-in (30-40 cN-m).

Although only 1.81 in (46 mm) in total height, the 1554JLGY still offers molded DIN rail tabs, vertical card guides for 1.5 mm boards and M3 brass inserts that also accept #6 self-tapping screws. Inside dimensions are 153.09 x 83.09 x 39.45 mm, and the optional 1554JPL steel inner panel is ordered separately.

The ABS version is not UL listed but has been tested to and meets IP66, carries an IK07 impact rating per IEC 62262:2021 and is recommended for -20°C to +60°C (-4°F to +140°F) indoors. Four wall-mounting holes sit outside the gasket channel and also accept the 1554FT foot kit. The part is RoHS and REACH compliant and ships shrink wrapped at 0.39 lbs (0.18 kg).
