The 1554HGY is the general purpose ABS version of the 1554H size: a light gray (RAL 7035) watertight box measuring 180 x 120 x 61 mm with a matching gray lid. It is a practical choice for indoor electronics, controls and instrumentation projects where a sealed plastic housing is needed and UL listing is not required.
ABS versions are molded from general purpose material with a UL94-HB flame rating and are intended for indoor use. They are not UL listed, but have been tested to and meet IP66, and carry an IK07 impact rating per IEC 62262:2021. The recommended operating temperature is -20°C to +60°C (-4°F to +140°F).
The interior measures about 172.91 x 107.00 x 54.50 mm and takes a PC board up to 106.68 x 167.13 mm. You can mount components on molded DIN rail tabs, on M3 brass inserts, on standoffs using #6 self-tapping screws, or in the vertical guides made for 1.5 mm boards. A 1554HPL steel inner panel is available separately.
The lid uses two-piece tongue and groove construction with a replaceable one-piece silicone gasket, shipped loose in the box. Four self-captivating M4 stainless steel screws thread into corrosion resistant bushings for repeated opening, with a recommended torque of 43-57 ozf-in (30-40 cN-m). The 1554HGY ships shrink wrapped at 0.62 lbs (0.28 kg).

Is the 1554HGY UL listed?▾
No. ABS versions in the 1554 Series are not UL listed. They have been tested to and meet IP66. For a UL 508A listed version in this size, the polycarbonate 1554H2GY is the gray-lid equivalent.
Can the 1554HGY be used outdoors?▾
The ABS versions are specified for indoor use. The polycarbonate versions are the ones described as UV stabilized for outdoor use.
