The 1553WBGY is the grey B-size model in the 1553W series of water-tight hand-held enclosures. It is designed to meet IP65 and ships with a pre-formed, pre-installed silicone gasket, while a grey TPE overmold on the sides gives a soft grip for handheld use.
Overall it measures 4.61 x 3.11 x 0.98 in (117 x 79 x 25 mm), or 117.25 x 78.92 x 25.00 mm on the drawing. Inside, the top has a 110.71 mm length and the bottom 109.41 mm. The part page lists maximum P.C. board figures of 68.49 mm and 107.23 mm, and PC board standoffs are molded into both halves to accept #2 x 3/16" self-tapping screws (1553WTS100, sold separately).
The body is UV stabilized, flame retardant ABS rated UL94 V-0. The top cover is recessed for a membrane display or keypad, and the front panel is integrated with the top half, so there is no separate end panel to seal. Assembly uses black stainless steel machine screws into pre-installed M3 brass inserts, located outside the gasket channel.
Each 1553WBGY includes the top, bottom, pre-installed silicone gasket and 4 cover screws. Tighten the cover screws to 2.5 lbf-in (30 cN-m). Replacement screws for B and D sizes are SC1553WB100BK, and the replacement gasket 2-pack is 1553WBGASKET. The enclosure is RoHS and REACH compliant and ships shrink wrapped at 0.21 lbs (0.10 kg).
