The 1553BBKBAT is the battery version of the 1553B soft-sided hand held enclosure: black ABS with a grey soft plastic overmold, plus a battery door and compartment in the bottom. It is intended for engineers building self-powered handheld devices such as meters, remotes and portable controllers.
Overall size is 4.62 x 3.11 x 0.95 in (117 x 79 x 24 mm). The battery compartment reduces the board area: the ordering table lists a maximum P.C. board of 3.07 x 2.64 in (78 x 67 mm), and the drawing shows 78.18 x 67.00 mm. The inner box is 110.24 mm long with 18.50 mm inner height, PCB bosses are molded into the bottom cover, and the top cover is recessed for a membrane display or keypad.
The assembly includes top, bottom, a removable front plastic panel, the battery door, 4 battery spring clips (for 2x AA batteries), a 9V (PP3) adapter clip and 2 cover screws. The P.C. board is not supplied. The case is molded in general purpose ABS with a UL94 HB flame rating and is RoHS and REACH compliant; note that the series IP54 design rating applies to versions without a battery door.
Replacement black lid screws are 1593QS100BK; PCB screws are 1593ATS50 or 1593ATS100. Additional kits include BS61 (9V battery kit) and 1553HDR-BKIT (AA battery clip kit, 4 positive and 4 negative). Recommended cover torque is 2.5 lbf-in (30 cN-m).
