The 1551XXTBU is the translucent blue version of the 1551 series 80 mm x 80 mm x 15 mm (3.15 in x 3.15 in x 0.59 in) miniature hand held enclosure. It gives product designers a see-through coloured housing for small printed circuit boards, and like the rest of the series it can also serve as a potting box.
The enclosure is molded from general purpose ABS plastic in translucent blue with 2 mm (0.08") walls, and is rated UL94 HB. A lap joint between box and lid protects against access of dust and splashing water, and the design meets IP54.
PC board standoffs are molded into the interior and take #2 x 3/16" self-tapping screws, which are not included. Boards up to 74 mm x 74 mm fit. The lid is secured with four #4 x 1/2" self-tapping screws supplied with the enclosure; on blue enclosures these are black plated. The drawing recommends a screw torque of 35-43 ozf.in (25-30 cN.m).
The 1551XXTBU is RoHS and REACH compliant, is packed in a bag and weighs 0.08 lbs (0.04 kg) shipped. Opaque alternatives in the same size are 1551XXBK (black) and 1551XXGY (grey); flanged lids are offered in black or grey only. Custom milling, drilling and printing can be ordered from the factory, and .stp and .x_t solid models are available.
