Hammond 1551XXFLGY 80x80x15mm Flanged Grey ABS Enclosure

The 1551XXFLGY is a light grey ABS plastic miniature enclosure with an integrated mounting flange molded into the lid. It measures 80 mm x 80 mm x 15 mm (3.15 in x 3.15 in x 0.59 in), with the length quoted not including the flange, and the drawing shows an overall length of 96.30 mm [3.79 in] across the flange. It suits designers and OEM engineers who need a compact housing that can be screwed to a wall or panel, or suspended with a tie wrap.

The box is molded from general purpose ABS plastic in RAL 7035 grey with 2 mm (0.08") walls. Lap joint construction between box and lid protects against access of dust and splashing water, and the enclosure is designed to meet IP54. The material carries a UL94 HB flame rating.

Inside, PC board standoffs are molded into the base and accept #2 x 3/16" self-tapping screws (not included). The maximum PC board size is 74 mm x 74 mm, which also makes the box a practical choice as a potting box. The purchased assembly includes the box, lid and four #4 x 1/2" self-tapping cover screws; grey enclosures come with nickel plated screws. Recommended screw torque is 35-43 ozf.in (25-30 cN.m).

The 1551XXFLGY is RoHS and REACH compliant and ships in a bag at 0.09 lbs (0.04 kg). Flanged 1551 sizes are offered in black or grey only; the black equivalent is 1551XXFLBK. Factory modification such as milling, drilling and printing is available, as are .stp and .x_t solid models. Avoid acetone, ketones, strong solvents, thread-locking compounds and cutting fluids, which can damage ABS.
