The 1551XXGY is a square, light grey ABS plastic miniature enclosure measuring 80 mm x 80 mm x 15 mm (3.15 in x 3.15 in x 0.59 in), depth including lid. It is aimed at electronics designers, hobbyists and OEM engineers who need a shallow, general purpose housing for a small printed circuit board, or a box to pot components in.
It is molded from general purpose ABS plastic in RAL 7035 grey with 2 mm (0.08") walls and a UL94 HB flame rating. The lid and box meet in a lap joint, which protects against access of dust and splashing water; the series is designed to meet IP54.

- PC board standoffs molded into the interior, accepting #2 x 3/16" self-tapping screws (not included)
- Four #4 x 1/2" self-tapping cover screws included, nickel plated to match the grey box
- Recommended torque: 35-43 ozf.in (25-30 cN.m)
The 1551XXGY is RoHS and REACH compliant, is packed in a bag and has a shipping weight of 0.08 lbs (0.04 kg). The same size is offered in black (1551XXBK), translucent blue (1551XXTBU) and with a flanged lid (1551XXFLGY). Hammond can factory modify the enclosure with milling, drilling or printing, and solid models are available in .stp or .x_t. Keep ABS away from acetone, ketones, thread-locking compounds and strong solvents.
