Hammond 1551WYGASKET Silicone Replacement Gasket 2-Pack, 100x50mm Size

The 1551WYGASKET is a 2-pack of replacement silicone gaskets for the 1551WY size of the 1551W watertight polycarbonate miniature enclosure series. It is for maintenance technicians, OEM production teams and integrators who open and re-seal these enclosures in service, or who want spares on hand for field repairs.

In the 1551W series the gasket is the replaceable silicone seal between box and lid that protects against ingress of water or dust, and the enclosures it serves are designed to meet IP68. The gasket listing itself carries the IP68 rating and is made of silicone.

Each gasket measures 3.91 in x 3.91 in x 0.05 in (99 mm x 99 mm x 1 mm). Per the series ordering table it is the replacement gasket for the 1551WY enclosures, which measure 100 mm long (not including flange) by 50 mm wide by 24 mm deep including the lid. That covers all four variants of this size: 1551WYBK and 1551WYGY without flange, and 1551WYFLBK and 1551WYFLGY with integrated wall-mounting flanges, in black or light gray.

The 1551WYGASKET is RoHS and REACH compliant and is packed in a bag. When refitting a lid, the series drawings recommend 71-100 ozf.in (50-70 cN.m) of torque on the #4 cover screws. Some chemicals can damage or weaken plastic, including acetone, ketones, ethers, thread-locking compounds and cutting or tapping fluid, so check compatibility before cleaning or modifying.
