Hammond 1551WKFLBK 80x40x22mm Flanged IP68 Polycarbonate Box, Black

The 1551WKFLBK is a black watertight miniature enclosure from the 1551W series with integrated wall-mounting flanges. It is intended for OEM engineers and integrators who need to house a small printed circuit board outdoors or anywhere water and dust are a concern, and then fix the box directly to a wall or panel.

The body and lid are molded from robust polycarbonate with a satin texture finish, and the polycarbonate carries a UL94 V-0 flame rating. A replaceable silicone gasket sits between box and lid to protect against ingress of water or dust, and the enclosure is designed to meet IP68. Each purchased assembly includes the box, lid, gasket and four #4 plastite self-tapping cover screws.

The body measures 80 mm (3.15 in) long, not including the flanges, by 40 mm (1.57 in) wide and 22 mm (0.87 in) deep including the lid. With the flanges the drawing shows an overall length of 100.01 mm [3.94 in]. PC board standoffs are molded into the interior and accept #2 self-tapping screws; the maximum board size is 74.5 x 34.5 mm.

Recommended torque is 71-100 ozf.in (50-70 cN.m) for the #4 cover screws and 21-28 ozf.in (15-20 cN.m) for #2 internal screws. Replacement gaskets come as the 1551WKGASKET 2-pack, and the same size is offered in 1551WKFLGY for a light gray flanged version. The part is RoHS and REACH compliant, ships shrink wrapped at 0.08 lbs (0.04 kg), and can be factory modified by milling, drilling or printing.
