The 1551MFLBK takes the small square 1551M enclosure and adds mounting flanges molded into the lid. Those flanges let you screw the box to a wall or panel, or suspend it with a tie wrap, making it a tidy housing for small sensors and circuit boards that need to be fixed in place.
The body measures 35 x 35 x 20 mm (1.38 x 1.38 x 0.79 in), with the length given not including the flange; across the flanges the drawing shows 51.30 mm (2.02 in) overall. Inside there is 29.73 x 29.73 mm of space and 16.00 mm of height, enough for a P.C. board up to 29 x 29 mm on the molded standoffs.
It is molded in black (RAL 9011) general purpose ABS with a UL94 HB flame rating and 2 mm (0.08 in) walls. A lap joint between box and lid protects against dust and splashing water, and the enclosure is designed to meet IP54.
Each 1551MFLBK includes box, flanged lid and 2 black plated #4 x 1/2 in self-tapping cover screws, with 35-43 ozf.in (25-30 cN.m) recommended torque. Board screws (#2 x 3/16 in, 1551ATS100) are extra. It is RoHS and REACH compliant and ships bagged at 0.04 lbs (0.02 kg).
