Hammond 1551MBK 35x35x20mm Black ABS Miniature Enclosure, IP54

The 1551MBK is a small square black ABS enclosure, 35 x 35 x 20 mm, from the 1551 miniature hand held series. It is a practical home for a tiny printed circuit board, such as a sensor or interface module, and doubles as a potting box for compact assemblies.

Molded in general purpose ABS plastic in black (RAL 9011), it has a UL94 HB flame rating and 2 mm (0.08 in) walls. The box and lid meet on a lap joint that protects against access of dust and splashing water, and the enclosure is designed to meet IP54.

Outside dimensions are 1.38 x 1.38 x 0.79 in (35 x 35 x 20 mm) including the lid. Inside, the drawing gives 29.73 x 29.73 mm with 16.00 mm (0.63 in) of height. A P.C. board up to 29 x 29 mm (1.14 in square) mounts on the molded standoffs using #2 x 3/16 in self-tapping screws, which are sold separately as 1551ATS100.

The 1551MBK ships with its box, lid and 2 black plated #4 x 1/2 in self-tapping cover screws; recommended torque is 35-43 ozf.in (25-30 cN.m). It is RoHS and REACH compliant and weighs 0.03 lbs (0.01 kg) bagged. The same size comes in grey (1551MGY), translucent blue (1551MTBU) and with a flanged lid (1551MFLBK).
