The 1551KTBU is a translucent blue general purpose ABS miniature enclosure from the 1551 series, sized 80 x 40 x 20 mm. It is intended for mounting small printed circuit boards or for use as a potting box, and the translucent blue plastic suits projects where you want internal indicator light to show through the case.
Construction is a two-piece box and lid in general purpose ABS with a UL94 HB flame rating. The two halves meet in a lap joint that protects against dust and splashing water, and the enclosure is designed to meet IP54. Walls are 2 mm (0.08 in) thick.
With the lid fitted it measures 80 mm long, 40 mm wide and 20 mm deep (3.15 x 1.57 x 0.79 in). The inside offers 74.73 x 34.73 mm and 16.00 mm of height, and the manufacturer drawing shows a maximum P.C. board size of 74.00 x 34.00 mm. PC board standoffs are molded inside and accept #2 self-tapping screws, which are sold separately as 1551ATS100.
Each 1551KTBU assembly includes the box, lid and 2 black plated #4 x 1/2 in self-tapping cover screws (black plated screws are used with blue enclosures). Tighten to 35-43 ozf.in (25-30 cN.m). It is RoHS and REACH compliant and ships in a bag at 0.05 lbs (0.02 kg). Same-size opaque versions are 1551KBK (black) and 1551KGY (grey).
