Hammond 1551LBK 80x40x15mm Black ABS Miniature Enclosure, IP54

The 1551LBK is a slim black ABS plastic enclosure from the 1551 miniature hand held series. At just 15 mm deep including the lid, it is a good fit for thin circuit boards in hand held devices, and it can also serve as a potting box for small electronic assemblies.

It is molded in general purpose ABS plastic, black to RAL 9011, with a UL94 HB flame rating. The box and lid close on a lap joint that guards against dust and splashing water, and the enclosure is designed to meet IP54. All walls are 2 mm (0.08 in) thick.

Outside dimensions are 80 x 40 x 15 mm (3.15 x 1.57 x 0.59 in). Inside, the drawing shows 75.17 mm length, 35.17 mm width and 11.00 mm height, and a maximum P.C. board size of 74.50 x 34.50 mm (2.93 x 1.36 in). Molded standoffs inside the box accept #2 x 3/16 in self-tapping screws; these are not included and are available as 1551ATS100.

The purchased assembly contains box, lid and 2 black plated #4 x 1/2 in self-tapping cover screws, with a recommended torque of 35-43 ozf.in (25-30 cN.m). The 1551LBK is RoHS and REACH compliant and ships in a bag weighing 0.05 lbs (0.02 kg). A deeper 20 mm version of the same footprint is listed in the series as 1551KBK, and the flanged-lid version is 1551LFLBK.
