Hammond 1551BGY 50 x 25mm Light Grey ABS Subminiature Enclosure

The 1551BGY is a light grey ABS subminiature enclosure from the 1551MINI series, measuring 50 mm x 25 mm x 15 mm (1.97 in x 0.98 in x 0.61 in). It is intended for dongles and small printed circuit boards with USB connectors, and suits designers who want a neutral grey housing in the series' middle size.

The enclosure is molded from general purpose ABS in RAL 7035 grey with a satin texture finish and UL94 HB flammability rating. It is designed to meet IP54, and its cover is recessed 0.50 mm [0.02 in] to accept a label.

PC boards up to 20.5 mm x 44 mm mount on molded standoffs using #2 x 3/16" self-tapping screws, which are not included (1553WTS100, pack of 100). Two silver #2 x 1/2" self-tapping lid screws come with the enclosure, and the recommended torque is 35-43 ozf.in (25-30 cN.m).

The 1551BGY is RoHS and REACH compliant and ships bagged at a listed 0.02 lbs (0.01 kg). Replacement silver lid screws are 1551USB50 (pack of 50). For a USB-A male connector cutout in this size, choose the 1551USB2 series. Factory modification (milling, drilling, printing) is available, and solid models can be had in .stp or .x_t format. As with any ABS enclosure, avoid acetone, ketones, thread-locking compounds, cutting fluids and strong solvents, which can damage the plastic.
