Hammond 1550WPBK 80 x 55 mm Black Watertight Diecast Aluminum Box

The 1550WPBK is a slim black watertight diecast aluminum enclosure measuring 80 mm x 55 mm x 21 mm, finished in textured satin black powder coat and supplied with an IP66 gasket. It suits compact electronics, sensor heads and control modules that need a small, finished-looking metal housing.

Tough satin black polyester powder paint gives a lasting finish even after the box is machined, and black screws are included to enhance the assembled look. Construction is die-cast aluminum alloy with a lap joint against dust and splashing water; the lid is held by M3.5 x 0.6 x 12 mm stainless steel Philips head machine screws into factory tapped holes.

Listed size is 3.15 in x 2.17 in x 0.83 in (80 mm x 55 mm x 21 mm); the series table gives 3.15 x 2.17 x 0.98 in (80 x 55 x 25 mm) including the 4 mm (0.16 in) lid. The drawing shows 76.13 mm [3.00 in] inside box length and 51.33 mm [2.02 in] inside box width. Shipping weight is 0.18 lbs (0.08 kg).

Inside, the walls have no ribs, and a 2° lower draft angle eases PC board mounting. The EVA foam gasket is shipped loose inside the enclosure, is rated up to 65°C (149°F), and gives IP66 when properly installed with lid screws torqued at 55 cN.m.
