Hammond 1550WQ 60 x 55 mm Compact Diecast Aluminum Box, IP66 Gasket

The 1550WQ is the smallest footprint in the 1550 Series table: a 60 mm x 55 mm watertight diecast aluminum enclosure in natural finish, supplied with an IP66 gasket. It suits tiny circuit boards, sensor electronics and connector breakouts that need a rugged, sealed metal shell.

Its die-cast aluminum alloy is tough yet easy to machine, and the unpainted body is vibra finished for a smooth surface with no sharp edges. A lap joint between lid and box protects against dust and splashing water, and M3.5 x 0.6 x 12 mm stainless steel Philips head machine screws secure the lid into factory tapped holes.

Hammond lists the 1550WQ at 2.36 in x 2.17 in x 1.02 in (60 mm x 55 mm x 26 mm). The series table gives 2.36 x 2.17 x 1.18 in (60 x 55 x 30 mm), which includes the 4 mm (0.16 in) lid. The drawing shows an inside box length of 55.74 mm [2.19 in] and inside box width of 50.74 mm [2.00 in]. Shipping weight is 0.18 lbs (0.08 kg).

No internal ribs means connectors install without interference or extra milling, and the 2° lower side-wall draft angle makes PC board mounting easier. The supplied EVA foam gasket ships loose inside, is rated up to 65°C (149°F), and provides IP66 when properly installed with lid screws torqued at 55 cN.m.

The 1550WQ is RoHS and REACH compliant and packed in shrink wrap. 1550QEGASKET replaces the IP66 gasket and 1550QSGASKET upgrades to IP67 silicone. Factory modification and .stp or .x_t solid models are available.
