Hammond 1550NSGASKET 250x250 mm IP67 Silicone Gasket Kit, Two-Pack

The 1550NSGASKET is the IP67 upgrade gasket kit for the 250x250 mm size of the 1550 Series diecast aluminum enclosures, a 250 x 250 x 101 mm box sold as 1550N (natural), 1550NBK (black), 1550WN and 1550WNBK (both supplied with an IP66 gasket). It is aimed at OEM engineers and integrators who need to move one of these enclosures from its standard sealing level to IP67.

Each kit contains two pre-formed silicone gaskets with adhesive backing, so a gasket can be laid into the lid without separate adhesives. Silicone carries a temperature rating of -40°C to +150°C (-40°F to 302°F), a much wider range than the economical EVA foam gasket, which is rated up to 65°C (149°F).

With the gasket properly installed and the lid screws torqued at 55 cN.m, the enclosure is tested to meet IP67. Without a gasket the 1550 enclosure is designed to meet IP54; the lap-joint lid and a gasket retainer on the lid hold the seal in an accurate, steady position.
