The 1550P is a natural-finish diecast aluminum enclosure from the 1550 Series, measuring 3.15 in (80 mm) x 2.17 in (55 mm) x 0.98 in (25 mm) including the lid. Supplied without a gasket, it is rated IP54 through its lap-joint lid, and suits instrument builders, OEM engineers and hobby project boxes alike.
At 80 x 55 mm and 25 mm tall including the lid, the 1550P footprint is the lowest-profile size in the 1550 ordering table, suited to thin PC boards. Per the drawing, the inside box measures 76.13 mm [3.00 in] long by 51.33 mm [2.02 in] wide with 22.10 mm [.87 in] of inside height, and the box stands 21.00 mm [.83 in] tall without the 4 mm lid.
The rugged die-cast alloy is tough yet easy to machine. It has a natural vibra finish, which leaves a smooth plain-aluminum surface with no sharp edges. Walls have no internal ribs, so connectors fit without interference or extra milling, and the low side wall draft angle (2° less) makes PC board mounting easier. The lid is secured by M3.5 x 0.6 x 12 mm stainless steel Phillips head screws into factory tapped holes.
To make it water-tight, add the 1550PEGASKET EVA foam kit (designed to meet IP66) or the 1550PSGASKET silicone kit (tested to meet IP67), each with lid screws torqued at 55 cN.m. Versions supplied with the IP66 gasket are 1550WP (natural) and 1550WPBK (black).
RoHS and REACH compliant, shipped in shrink wrap at 0.16 lbs (0.07 kg). UPC 623980625850, UNSPSC 39121301. Solid models are available in .stp or .x_t, and the enclosure can be factory modified (milling, drilling, printing).
