Hammond 149U 150/600:8 Ohm PCB Output Transformer, 1000 mW

The 149U is an open frame output transformer that converts a 150/600 ohm primary to an 8 ohm secondary. It lets designers drive an 8 ohm load from a 150 or 600 ohm audio source on a printed circuit board, with a 1000 mW rating.

The 149 Series uses an economical, open type, horizontal bracket construction with pin-type terminals for P.C. board mounting, and adds clinching lugs for extra mounting strength. Windings are bifilar wound for balanced capacitive and resistance characteristics on pin bobbins spaced for a standard 0.2" grid, and the series is insulation tested at 250V rms.

The maximum unbalanced primary current is 4 mA and the primary D.C. resistance is 53 ohms (+/- 15%). The secondary D.C. resistance is shown as 1.012 ohms in the series ordering table and 95 ohms on the part listing, so confirm against the drawing for critical designs. Frequency response is 200 Hz to 15 kHz (+/- 1 dB, referenced at 1 kHz) and insertion loss is less than 1/2 dB, while total distortion is approximately 1% at 200 Hz for outputs, decreasing at higher frequencies.
