The 149S is an open frame output transformer with a 600 ohm center-tapped primary and a 150 ohm center-tapped secondary. It gives audio designers a board-mounted 600 to 150 ohm coupling transformer with center-tap access on both windings and a 1000 mW rating.
The 149 Series uses an economical, open type, horizontal bracket construction with pin-type terminals for P.C. board mounting, and adds clinching lugs for extra mounting strength. Windings are bifilar wound for balanced capacitive and resistance characteristics on pin bobbins spaced for a standard 0.2" grid, and the series is insulation tested at 250V rms.
The 149S carries a maximum unbalanced primary current of 4 mA. D.C. resistance is 53 ohms on the primary and 17 ohms on the secondary (+/- 15%). Frequency response is 200 Hz to 15 kHz (+/- 1 dB, referenced at 1 kHz) and insertion loss is less than 1/2 dB, while total distortion is approximately 1% at 200 Hz for outputs, decreasing at higher frequencies. Connections follow schematic figure 5.
