The 1490G4 is a four-hole sloped consolet measuring 7.25 in H x 6.25 in W x 6.75 in D (184 x 159 x 171 mm). It accepts 30.5 mm heavy duty oil tight pushbuttons, switches and pilot lights and is ideal for wall or surface mounting where operators need the controls angled toward them.
Unlike the smaller D sizes, the G sizes use an internally hinged removable cover designed to hold the cover open while you wire. Captive cover screws thread into sealed wells, and an oil resistant gasket and adhesive guard the devices against dirt, dust, oil and water. Mounting position gives either a 30° or 60° slope on the front cover.
The drawing shows a 6.62 x 7.62 in door with a 5.90 in door opening, 1.21 in pushbutton holes on 2.25 in spacing, and 0.25 in mounting holes in the welded brackets. The body is formed 16 gauge steel with smooth continuously welded seams, phosphatized and finished in ANSI 61 gray powder coating. A bonding stud is fitted on the door and a grounding stud on the enclosure.
The 1490G4 is UL 508A Type 12 and 13 and CSA Type 12 and 13 rated, and complies with NEMA Type 12 and 13 and IEC 60529 IP54 when appropriate components are used. Shipping weight is 6 lbs (2.72 kg). The 22.5 mm version is 1490MG4.
