At 19.75 in wide, the 1490G16 is the widest G size in the 1490 Series of Type 12 mild steel pushbutton consolets. It provides sixteen 30.5 mm holes along a sloped face just 7.25 in high and 6.75 in deep (184 x 502 x 171 mm overall), and is designed to accept standard heavy duty oil tight pushbuttons, switches and pilot lights.
It is ideal for wall or surface mounting to give the necessary control slope: depending on mounting position, the front cover sits at 30° or 60°. The drawing shows a 20.12 x 7.62 in door, 1.21 in holes on 2.25 in spacing, and 0.25 in holes in the welded brackets.
Construction is formed 16 gauge steel with smooth continuously welded seams and an oil resistant gasket and adhesive. The internally hinged removable cover is designed to hold open during wiring and is secured by captive screws threading into sealed wells. Finish is phosphatized steel with ANSI 61 gray powder coating, with a bonding stud on the door and grounding stud on the enclosure.
The 1490G16 carries UL 508A Type 12 and 13 and CSA Type 12 and 13 ratings and complies with NEMA Type 12 and 13 and IEC 60529 IP54 with appropriate components. It ships at 13 lbs (5.90 kg). A squarer 16-hole option is the 1490J16, and the 22.5 mm version of this part is 1490MG16.
