Hammond 1486C72 4 x 4 x 72 in Type 4/12 Wiring Trough

The 1486C72 is the longest 4 x 4 trough in the 1486 Series at 72.00 in (1829 mm), with a 4.00 in x 4.00 in (102 mm) section. It is designed to enclose and protect multiple wiring junctions from dirt, dust, oil and water, and its six-foot length cuts down on joints for long runs of larger conductor bundles in plants and on equipment.

The trough is formed from 14 gauge steel with smooth continuously welded seams. Its butt hinged cover is secured with easily operated stainless steel screw clamps and seals on permanently secured oil resistant gaskets. External 12 gauge mounting feet are welded to the back, and trough and cover are finished in ANSI 61 gray powder coating.

Nominal dimensions are 4.00 in (102 mm) H x 4.00 in (102 mm) D x 72.00 in (1829 mm) L; the drawing gives 71.99 in overall with a 71.41 in opening length and a 72.38 in x 4.38 in door. Mounting hole spacing on the drawing is 35.37 in + 35.37 in, with 0.31 in diameter holes.

The series is rated UL 870 Type 1, 12, 4 and CSA Type 1, 12, 4, and complies with NEMA Type 12, 4 and IEC 60529 IP66. The 1486C72 is listed under UL File E186830 and CSA Cert. LL21312, is RoHS and REACH compliant, and ships in a box at 30 lbs (13.61 kg).
