Hammond 1486C12 4 x 4 x 12 in Type 4/12 Wiring Trough

The 1486C12 is a 12 in (305 mm) wiring trough with a 4.00 in x 4.00 in (102 mm) section, the shortest 4 x 4 size in the 1486 Series. It is designed to enclose and protect multiple wiring junctions from dirt, dust, oil and water, and gives panel builders a compact sealed junction space with more room for conductors than the 2.5 x 2.5 sizes.

The trough is formed 14 gauge steel with smooth continuously welded seams. A butt hinged cover is secured with easily operated stainless steel screw clamps, oil resistant gaskets are permanently secured, and 12 gauge external mounting feet are welded to the back. The trough and cover are finished in ANSI 61 gray powder coating.

Dimensions are 4.00 in (102 mm) H x 4.00 in (102 mm) D x 12.00 in (305 mm) L. The manufacturer drawing shows an 11.23 in opening length, a 12.38 in x 4.38 in door, 10.75 in mounting hole spacing and 0.31 in diameter mounting holes.

Series ratings are UL 870 Type 1, 12, 4 and CSA Type 1, 12, 4, and complies with NEMA Type 12, 4 and IEC 60529 IP66. The 1486C12 is listed under UL File E186830 and CSA Cert. LL21312, is RoHS and REACH compliant, and ships in a box at 6 lbs (2.72 kg).
