Hammond 1486B18 2.5 x 2.5 x 18 in Type 4/12 Wiring Trough

The 1486B18 is an 18 in Type 4/12 wiring trough with a compact 2.50 in x 2.50 in section, part of the 1486 Series. Its stated application is to enclose and protect multiple wiring junctions from dirt, dust, oil and water, making it a fit for control panel builders and industrial electricians linking devices a short distance apart.

Construction is formed 14 gauge steel with smooth continuously welded seams. The butt hinged cover closes with easily operated stainless steel screw clamps against permanently secured oil resistant gaskets, and 12 gauge external mounting feet are welded to the back. Trough and cover are finished in ANSI 61 gray powder coating.

Dimensions are 2.50 in (64 mm) H x 2.50 in (64 mm) D x 18.00 in (457 mm) L. The manufacturer drawing shows a 17.21 in x 1.71 in opening, an 18.38 in x 2.88 in door, mounting hole spacing of 16.75 in and 0.31 in diameter mounting holes.

The series is rated UL 870 Type 1, 12, 4 and CSA Type 1, 12, 4, and complies with NEMA Type 12, 4 and IEC 60529 IP66. This part is listed under UL File E186830 and CSA Cert. LL21312, is RoHS and REACH compliant, and ships in a box at 5 lbs (2.27 kg).
