Hammond 1455T1601BU 160 x 165 mm Blue Anodized Aluminum Enclosure, IP54

The 1455T1601BU is a 1455 series extruded aluminum PC board enclosure in blue anodize, sized 6.3 in x 6.5 in x 2.05 in (160 mm x 165 mm x 52 mm). It is the blue anodized version, one of two coloured finishes in this size, and it ships with black screws. Designed to house PC boards or for equipment interfacing, it suits electronics engineers, OEMs and integrators building instruments, controllers and interface units.

The body is extruded aluminum with a minimum thickness of 0.06" (1.5 mm) and carries an IP54 rating on the part page. The drawing note specifies the box is made from extruded aluminum 6063 and the bezels from polycarbonate. PC boards mount horizontally by sliding into internal slots extruded into the body; maximum board size is 159.5 mm long by 159 mm wide, and the drawing notes the extrusion is designed for a 160 mm wide PC board. It is one of the enclosures with a removable sliding plate.

As the metal end panel version it includes two flat aluminum end panels colour matched to the housing, two black open plastic bezels, four adhesive rubber feet and #6 x 3/8" thread rolling steel end panel screws with a #4 flat head phillips drive in a black finish (replacement pack: 1455MS100BK, quantity 100). Recommended screw torque is 5 lbf-in. The drawing shows a 160.00 ± 0.50 mm extrusion length and 169.50 mm [6.673 in] x 55.63 mm [2.190 in] overall width and height at the end plates. The series table lists blue in this size only with aluminum end panels; the plastic end panel versions (1455T1602, 1455T1602BK) come in clear or black.

Optional flange end panels (1455TF) allow surface mounting, and factory modification (milling, drilling, printing) plus STEP or IGES solid models are available. The 1455T1601BU ships shrink wrapped at 1.24 lbs (0.56 kg) and is REACH and RoHS compliant.
