The 1444-24 is a 12 in x 8 in x 3 in (305 mm x 203 mm x 76 mm) aluminum chassis. It shares its footprint with the 2 in high 1444-22 but adds an extra inch of height, giving more under-chassis room for wiring and components in tube amplifiers and audio equipment.
Construction is spot welded, heavy duty 0.051 in aluminum (0.05 in / 1 mm per the ordering table) with a natural aluminum finish. The protective covering on the aluminum can be used as a layout tool, per the series photo notes.
The drawing lists inner box dimensions of 302.21 mm [11.90 in] long, 200.61 mm [7.90 in] wide and 73.61 mm [2.90 in] high. Shipping weight is 1.1 lbs (0.50 kg).
This size is also available with solid walnut sides as 1444-24CWW. The 1444-24 uses bottom plate 1434-22 (natural finish, 0.051 in aluminum, punched with 4 holes of 3/16 in diameter) and plated cover screws 1421J6 (package of six 6-32 x 1/4 in self-tapping screws); all components are sold separately. The 1451 series steel chassis covers are not compatible.
The 1444-24 is RoHS and REACH compliant and ships in shrink wrap. Factory modification (milling, drilling, printing) is available, and solid models are offered in STEP or IGES.
