The 1444-20 is a 17 in x 4 in x 3 in (432 mm x 102 mm x 76 mm) aluminum chassis. Its full 17 in width with only 4 in of depth makes it a distinctive shape in the 1444 Series, suited to long front panels, strip-style audio or control units, and electronics that need height but little depth.
The chassis is spot welded, heavy duty construction in 0.040 in aluminum (0.04 in / 1 mm) with a natural aluminum finish. The protective covering on the aluminum can be used as a layout tool, per the series photo notes.
From the drawing, the inner box is 429.77 mm [16.92 in] long, 99.57 mm [3.92 in] wide and 74.17 mm [2.92 in] high. The 1444-20 ships at 0.79 lbs (0.36 kg).
Bottom plate 1434-20 (natural finish, 0.040 in aluminum, punched with 4 holes of 3/16 in diameter) closes the underside, secured with plated cover screws 1421J6 (package of 6, 6-32 x 1/4 in self-tapping). Both are sold separately, and the 1451 series steel chassis covers do not fit this series.
The 1444-20 is RoHS and REACH compliant and ships in shrink wrap. Factory modification (milling, drilling, printing) is available, with STEP or IGES solid models on request.
