Hammond 1441-33BK3CWW 17x10x4 in Black Chassis with Walnut Sides

The 1441-33BK3CWW combines the 17 x 10 x 4 in satin black steel chassis of the 1441 Series with real walnut side panels. It is intended for builders of tube and vintage-style electronics who want the look of a classic wood-trimmed chassis without making their own end cheeks, and it is one of the sizes in the series offered with the walnut side upgrade.

The body is spot welded 20 gauge steel in satin black powder paint, and the material is listed as steel with walnut sides. The drawing shows an inner box length of 429.97 mm [16.93 in], an inner box width of 251.66 mm [9.91 in] and an inner box height of 99.77 mm [3.93 in]. With the wooden sides fitted the overall length grows to 449.58 mm [17.70 in] and the overall depth to 266.70 mm [10.50 in], compared with the 431.80 x 254.00 mm [17.00 x 10.00 in] steel body.

Unlike the plain steel versions, this chassis includes the wooden sides, adhesive rubber feet and the required hardware. The drawing cautions that screws should not be torqued past 4.43 lbf.in (50 cN.m). A bottom plate is sold separately; the ordering table lists 1431-30BK3 in satin black for this size, and black 6-32 x 1/4 in self-tapping bottom plate screws are available as 1421J6BK. Clear self-adhesive rubber feet in a package of 24 are listed as 1421T6CL.
