Hammond 1441-12 7x5x2-Inch ASA 61 Grey Steel Chassis

The 1441-12 is a 7 in x 5 in x 2 in steel chassis in ASA 61 smooth grey. Its 5 in depth gives a slightly squarer footprint than the 8 x 4 in sizes, and it is one of the sizes the 1441 Series also offers as a satin black chassis with walnut sides (1441-12BK3CWW), so builders of classic and tube-style projects can choose the finish that suits them.

The chassis is spot welded, heavy duty 20 gauge steel; the drawing specifies 0.036 in steel. It is finished in ASA 61 smooth grey powder paint. Nominal size is 7 in x 5 in x 2 in (178 mm x 127 mm x 51 mm), and the drawing shows an inner box of 175.97 mm [6.93 in] long, 125.17 mm [4.93 in] wide and 48.97 mm [1.93 in] high, with a chassis height of 50.80 mm [2.00 in].

The underside is open and the chassis includes 1/8 in holes for the optional 1431-12 grey or 1431-12BK3 satin black bottom plate. No perforated chassis cover is listed for this size. Hardware is not provided: 1421J6 is a package of six 6-32 x 1/4 in self-tapping screws and 1421J6BK is the black version. Rubber feet are sold separately.

Enclosures can be factory modified by milling, drilling or printing, and solid models are available in STEP or IGES. The 1441-12 is RoHS and REACH compliant, ships shrink wrapped and has a shipping weight of 0.94 lbs (0.43 kg).
