The 1437S16A is a single-hole pushbutton enclosure for 30.5mm operators, made in 316 stainless steel as part of the extra deep 1437SS Series. It is designed to accept a standard heavy duty oil tight pushbutton, switch or pilot light, and protects it from dirt, dust, oil and water, making it well suited to a standalone stop, reset or indicator point.
The enclosure is formed from 16 gauge steel with smooth, continuously welded seams and a natural brushed stainless steel finish. On this 1-hole size the cover is not hinged; captive cover screws fasten it into threaded, sealed wells, and an oil resistant gasket and adhesive complete the seal. A bonding stud is provided on the door and a grounding stud on the enclosure.
Size is 4 in x 4 in x 4.75 in (102 mm x 102 mm x 121 mm). On the drawing, overall height is 4.75 in, the door is 4.37 in square, overall depth is 4.91 in and the pushbutton hole is Ø1.21 in. Welded brackets provide for mounting with Ø0.25 in holes on 3.12 in x 4.50 in centres. The 1437S16A ships boxed at 3 lbs (1.36 kg).
The series is rated UL 508A Type 4 and 4X and CSA Enclosure 4 and 4X, and complies with NEMA Type 4 and 4X and IEC 60529 IP66; appropriate components are required to maintain these standards. UL file E65324 and CSA certificate LR21001 apply, and the part is REACH and RoHS compliant.
