Hammond 1437S16C 3-Hole 30.5mm 316 Stainless Pushbutton Enclosure

The 1437S16C is a three-hole enclosure for 30.5mm pushbuttons, built in 316 stainless steel as part of the extra deep 1437SS Series. It accepts standard heavy duty oil tight pushbuttons, switches and pilot lights and shields them from dirt, dust, oil and water, which makes it a practical choice for three-function operator stations on process and packaging equipment.

The enclosure is formed from 16 gauge steel with smooth, continuously welded seams and has a natural stainless steel finish with a smooth brushed surface. Its cover is secured with captive screws that fasten into threaded, sealed wells, and is sealed by an oil resistant gasket and adhesive. A bonding stud sits on the door and a grounding stud on the enclosure. The series notes internally hinged removable covers on its larger enclosures, which hold the cover open during wiring; only the 1-hole size is footnoted as not hinged.

Size is 8 in x 4 in x 4.75 in (203 mm x 102 mm x 121 mm). The drawing records a 9.00 in overall height, an 8.37 in by 4.37 in door, a 4.91 in overall depth and Ø1.21 in holes on 2.25 in centres. Welded brackets provide Ø0.25 in mounting holes on 3.13 in x 8.50 in centres. Shipping weight is 3 lbs (1.36 kg).

Series ratings: UL 508A Type 4 and 4X, CSA Enclosure 4 and 4X, and compliance with NEMA Type 4 and 4X and IEC 60529 IP66, with appropriate components required to maintain them. The 1437S16C carries UL file E65324 and CSA certificate LR21001 and is REACH and RoHS compliant.
