The 1436V is the largest enclosure in the Standard Depth (1436) range of the 1436/1438 Series: a 14.00 x 10.75 in Type 12 mild steel junction box. It is designed for instrument enclosures, electrical junction boxes and terminal wiring enclosures that need a degree of protection from falling dirt, dust, oil and water.
The body measures 14.00 in H x 10.75 in W x 3.00 in D (356 x 273 x 76 mm) and is formed from 16 gauge steel with smooth, continuously welded seams and no knockouts, cutouts or holes. Welded mounting brackets give an overall height of 15.00 in, with Ø0.25 in mounting holes on 14.50 in vertical and 9.88 in horizontal centres. Overall depth with cover is 3.16 in.
The 14.37 x 11.12 in cover lifts off and is supported on internal hinges. It is secured with captive, plated steel screws that fasten into threaded, sealed wells, and it seals on a permanently secured oil resistant gasket. The door opening is 13.50 in high by 10.25 in wide, the largest in the 1436 group. A bonding stud on the cover and grounding stud on the enclosure are provided.
The 1436V is rated UL 508A Type 12 and 13 and CSA Type 12 and 13, and complies with NEMA Type 12 and 13 and IEC 60529 IP54. Cover and enclosure are phosphatized and finished in ANSI 61 gray recoatable powder coating. Shipping weight is 11 lbs (4.99 kg) in a box.
